John Minto
John Minto was the key organiser of HART ( Halt all Racist Tours) protest movement in the lead up to the 1981 Springbok Tour. As an anti-tour activist he believed it was morally wrong to play rugby against a racially selected team and believed that New Zealand was encouraging the policy of Apartheid by letting the Springboks play in New Zealand. He was one of the many protestors to take the field in Hamilton resulting in the game being cancelled. He was assualted by angry rugby supporters leaving the ground in all the chaos.
